Live, small-group workshop (limited spaces) where we
complete your site assessment and garden layout together.
By the end of this 3 hour session, you'll have:
- a completed SWAPP map for site assessment
- Right sized the garden for your capacity, needs, & goals
- Identified the best location, plus gained clarity on your
site's talents and challenges
- Your bed and path layout sketched out
- Intro to plants guidance: which, how many, where?
You'll leave with the map, your larger garden design (paths and beds), and clarity about how to layout each specific bed.

Before you dig your garden, let's design it.
Drawing is thinking: thinking through your site, thinking through your capacity. The goal is not a fancy bit of art, it's a useful map.

Who This Is For?
This intensive is for you if:
You want to grow vegetables or herbs,
You want to plant soon, and
You want to get placement right.

You're done wasting money on seedlings
You're tired of so many weeds (and of burn out)
You’d benefit from live guidance and accountability
Note: We will talk about groups of plants (ex: tomatoes), but this event is not for diagnosing pests or choosing precise seeds / varieties (ex: country peach tomatoes). This is about design and layout.

With nearly two decades of professional gardening experience — including many years designing and stewarding a public community garden and food forest — I’ve seen exactly where new gardeners get stuck and what helps them move forward.
In this masterclass, I’m sharing the core design principles I learned (both in the field and in landscape architecture school) that make the difference.

Changing the human relationship with the landscapes that sustain us,
one gardener at a time.
